Prayer Seminars: Experience various prayer styles – All Welcome:  A series of Prayer Seminars, which will commence on Tuesday 21 September, and run weekly, 7pm – 8:30pm via Zoom. These are open to anyone in the Diocese to attend any or all of the 12 evenings. Each week a different presenter will lead us in a style of prayer that is meaningful to them. The seminars will include information, but also the opportunity to be led by an expert in the prayer experience. To register, go to https://www.dow.org.au/events. To begin our series of Prayer Seminars, next Tuesday 21 September, Rachel Fleurant MGL, will lead us in               Centering Prayer. Come and discover the beautiful practice of interior silence using a sacred word and simply rest in the presence of God.   Each week, the importance of praying for the Plenary Council and its members will be remembered, amongst many important prayer intentions for the Church and the world.

The Year of St Joseph Pope Francis on 8 December 2020 published an Apostolic Letter Patris corde (With a Father’s Heart), commemorating the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. Marriage Anniversaries Mass: Livestreamed Sunday 19 September – 12.30pm:  This celebration for those marking 25, 40, 50, 60, or over 60 years of marriage in 2020-21, will be livestreamed this Sunday. All those who have registered have been invited to be part of the online Mass with Bishop Brian, who will celebrate Mass from the Cathedral, offering a blessing for each of the 47 couples who have registered. Each registered couple has been sent a commemoration certificate, prayer cards, Mass booklet and a letter from Bishop Brian. Alone with Christ Alone : A Women’s Retreat:  Women  of all ages are invited to join the Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia for an online retreat into silence, 24-26 September.  You will provide the silent times and spaces over the course of the weekend. Faith Circles—free small group resource: During this period of Pandemic isolation, you are encouraged to spend time in prayer and spiritual reading and faith Circles is one way that you can do this. The weekly Faith Circles resource is available for free to download. It is easy to use and could easily be done in your household or even by skype / phone with others at this time, with its questions and prayer points.
