Dear sisters and brothers in Christ
A warm and heartfelt thank you to all who have wished me a happy 70th Birthday. Also, I want to thank all those who helped to organise and attended the party we held last Saturday night. It was a beautiful gathering.
Thank you for the delicious food you shared. And thank you also for the
entertainment that we all enjoyed. These things don’t just happen – it requires considerable organising, as well as lots of work behind-the-scenes – so thank you all so very much.
I have been the pastor of this Parish for over 13 years now, and one thing I can say is that this community knows how to celebrate special occasions. From the highlight of each week, the Sunday mass, to more specific dates on the calendar.
The highlight of the year is, without doubt, our Parish Fiesta, on the nearest Sunday to 16 July, the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It is preceded by a novena of masses beginning this year on Friday 4 July at 7.30pm. If you haven’t already volunteered to help in the set-up and putting away afterwards then get in touch with office and we will steer you in the right direction.
Once again, thank you and God bless you all for a great night last Saturday. May we continue as a Parish to know, love, and serve Jesus by sharing our gifts through our baptismal mission.
